Funding for Programs Enhancing their Ability to Serve Communities in Oregon (USA)
GrantID: 75378
Grant Funding Amount Low: $5,000
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $100,000
Summary
This grant opportunity offers funding to strengthen the operational capacities of nonprofit and community organizations working in rural settings. The purpose is to help recipients grow and sustain their impact through technical assistance, skill building, and strategic investments.
One stream of funding supports technical assistance / professional development, with awards of up to $5,000. These funds can cover things like sending staff or board members to trainings or conferences, hiring consultants to help with strategic planning or fundraising, or acquiring specialized software or tools tied directly to the organization’s mission. The emphasis is on capacity rather than general operating support.
In addition to that, there is a complementary “open call” grant track in which organizations may request $2,500 to $30,000 (with a median award closer to $20,000). Those funds are intended for programmatic work over a 12 to 18‑month period, and may include equipment or modest infrastructure tied to program goals (though large facility improvements are generally excluded). There is also a “small grants” tier with requests in the range of $500 to $2,500, intended for grassroots or pilot initiatives.
Organizations eligible for this grant include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, governmental bodies, and tribal entities — particularly those serving communities within rural or underserved regions. Applicants cannot be individuals or for‑profit businesses under this program.
If awarded, recipients may be asked to provide a brief final report on outcomes and lessons learned. The program is competitive, so proposals that are clear, well scoped, and well connected to community needs tend to fare best.
This grant may be available to individuals and organizations in Oregon that are actively involved in Non-Profit Support Services. To locate more funding opportunities in your field, visit The Grant Portal and search by interest area using the Search Grant tool.
