Women across Oregon, particularly those in remote areas, often struggle with obtaining timely and accurate reproductive health information. The rapid development of telehealth solutions in urban areas has not yet effectively penetrated many rural communities, leaving women without critical avenues to receive information regarding contraception and pregnancy termination. Additionally, the digital divide remains a concern, with limited broadband access impacting many residents’ abilities to utilize available health technology.
The proposed funding will support the development of a user-friendly app designed to allow women in Oregon to access vital reproductive health information and resources conveniently. This innovative solution will aim to bridge the gap in information access, ensuring that women can obtain real-time information about their reproductive health options, including contraception methods and pregnancy termination pathways. By harnessing technology, this initiative will enhance accessibility and actively engage women with reproductive health services.
The initiative will also focus on ensuring equitable access to technology and provide resources for those lacking digital literacy, which is crucial in addressing the technology gap amongst various demographics in Oregon.
